Batch 02 Hajj Pilgrims from Banjarmasin Embarkation Arrive in Indonesia

The second batch of Hajj pilgrims from the Banjarmasin embarkation in South Kalimantan, originating from Banjar Regency, have arrived in the country after completing the 1447 Hijriah pilgrimage in the Holy Land. The Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah for South Kalimantan Province, Eddy Khairani, stated at the Banjarbaru Hajj dormitory on Friday that the group landed at Syamsuddin Noor International Airport in Banjarmasin at approximately 3:30 PM WITA.

A total of 358 pilgrims from this second batch have arrived. However, two pilgrims from the original group of 360 had to delay their return to Indonesia as they are currently undergoing medical treatment in Saudi Arabia. Eddy expressed hope for their swift recovery so they may return with a subsequent group.

Upon arrival at the Hajj dormitory, the pilgrims were served traditional Banjar cuisine, specifically Soto Banjar, before being sent home. The Banjar Regency Government provided transportation facilities to ensure pilgrims were delivered to their respective families.

Eddy urged the pilgrims to continue monitoring their health following the physically demanding 40-day pilgrimage in the Holy Land, advising them to report any health issues immediately for assistance. This year, the Banjarmasin embarkation dispatched 19 batches, comprising 14 from South Kalimantan and five from Central Kalimantan, totalling 6,804 individuals. To date, six pilgrims from South and Central Kalimantan have passed away in the Holy Land; four from South Kalimantan and two from Central Kalimantan. All deceased pilgrims have been buried in Saudi Arabia in accordance with applicable regulations.
