Batavia Arts Fest held

INDONESIA: The Batavia Arts Fest 2003 will be held on Sunday in
conjunction with the 476th anniversary of Jakarta and in the
drive to preserve traditional arts and games of the city.

Visitors to the arts festival at Taman Fatahillah, West
Jakarta, will be invited to experience the arts and games for
themselves, the museum said in a statement, adding that both
traditional and contemporary art forms were scheduled.

There will also be the selection of "Young Museum Ambassadors"
in an effort to develop a greater appreciation of museums and
history among the younger generation, as well as a photo
exhibition.

The festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. -- JP
