The Batang Industrial Special Economic Zone (KEK) is once again demonstrating the impact of investment on improving the quality of local human resources. One of the tenants, PT Ace Medical Products Indonesia, is sending 156 Indonesian employees to undergo intensive training in Zhijiang, Hubei, China.

The training program will be carried out in two stages, namely November 2025-February 2026 and March-June 2026. Of the total participants, approximately 80% or 117 people are local workers from Batang, as part of the company’s commitment to empowering the local community since the beginning of operations.

The HRGA Manager of PT Ace Medical Products Indonesia, Agnes Galih, explained that the training is being conducted in China because the production system, technology, raw materials, and training personnel are still centered there.

“The employees are being equipped with a comprehensive understanding of the production process, operational standards, technology, and the company’s work culture so that they are ready to work according to global standards when the facility in Batang begins operations,” said Agnes.

The training materials cover various competencies, ranging from operating production machines, quality assurance, technicians, sterilization, liquid waste management, production material control, to technology-based production systems. In addition to technical aspects, participants also receive strengthening of managerial skills according to their respective positions.

One of the participants, Mokhammad Bima Dewanda, a resident of Subah Village, Batang, said that the training was a valuable experience even though he faced challenges in adapting to the language and new work systems such as SAP and data management. He believes that the work culture in China is very open to the learning process, and the knowledge gained will be applied and shared with colleagues in Batang.

This program is part of the company’s long-term strategy. Management is targeting that within the next five years, the operations of PT Ace Medical Products Indonesia can be fully managed by Indonesian workers.

The Regent of Batang, M Faiz Kurniawan, stated that the company’s investment has the potential to absorb up to 3,500 workers, with priority given to local communities.

“This investment not only creates jobs but also encourages increased capacity, technology transfer, and the formation of a global work ethic,” said Faiz.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Corporate Secretary Division of the Batang Industrial Special Economic Zone, M. Burhan Murtaki, emphasized that the overseas training program reflects quality investment that not only builds industrial facilities but also strengthens the competence of human resources.

Currently, most of the company’s operations are carried out by local workers, while the position of project leader is still held by foreign workers in the transition process towards full independence by Indonesian human resources.

This training program further confirms the position of the Batang Industrial Special Economic Zone as a strategic industrial area that not only attracts manufacturing investment but also encourages technology transfer and improves the competitiveness of local workers. (E-3)
