Batang Regency Launches 'Batang Investa' Platform for Investment Licensing Ease
The Batang Regency government in Central Java has launched the ‘Batang Investa’ digital platform to provide ease and certainty for investors regarding licensing processes. Batang Regent Faiz Kurniawan stated that this achievement is part of the local government’s efforts to offer more transparent services and clear Service Level Agreements (SLA) to investors. ‘We want to provide services and certainty to investors regarding licensing processes and investment ease in this region so that the service process is more open, transparent, accountable, and has an SLA and certainty for investors,’ he said in Batang on Wednesday. To support the investment climate, the local government has issued a Regional Regulation on Investment Incentives and Ease, which provides various facilities ranging from local tax reductions to infrastructure support. Faiz noted that one common complaint from investors is the mismatch between purchased land and spatial planning. To address this, the Batang Investa platform provides open information on potential investment land locations. Regarding the dominance of capital-intensive industries, Faiz clarified that not all investments in the region are capital-intensive, citing companies like Yihua Footwear and PIP that absorb a large workforce. He added that the regency recorded a realised investment value of approximately Rp7 trillion in the first half of 2026.
