Batang Optimises Food Security Initiative Through 2026 Krenova Competition
Batang (ANTARA) - The Batang Regency Government in Central Java is optimising the food security movement through the 2026 Community Creativity and Innovation Competition (Krenova) to foster citizen participation in accelerating regional development.
Head of the Regional Research and Innovation Division at the Batang Regency Development Planning, Research, and Innovation Agency (Bapperida), Dwi Yanti, stated in Batang on Tuesday that the Krenova competition aims to encourage the growth of a creativity and innovation ecosystem within the community while increasing public participation in regional development.
“Through the Krenova competition, we want to encourage the community to continue innovating and contributing to the acceleration of development in the region,” she said.
According to her, the local government will continue to provide ongoing support to the winners of the 2026 Krenova competition so that the resulting innovations can be developed more broadly.
This facilitation, she continued, includes handling intellectual property rights such as patents and copyrights, as well as technical guidance for innovation development.
“In addition, the winners will also have the opportunity to participate in innovation exhibitions at the provincial and national levels, and will be facilitated to establish collaborations with various parties, including government agencies, universities, and communities,” she said.
She hopes that the results of community innovations will not only stop at the competition but can also be implemented in practice and provide broad benefits.
“This competition carries the theme of strengthening food security in line with the direction of regional development policies. The theme adopted is strengthening food security through food availability, access, and utilisation,” she said.
