Batam Kadin Consolidation, Amsakar Pushes for Business Synergy to Strengthen Investment
The Head of the Batam Authority (BP Batam), Amsakar Achmad, appreciated the holding of the Consolidation Deliberation of the Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Batam at Balairungsari, the Main Bida Building of BP Batam, Batam Centre, on Thursday (30/4).
This forum serves as a strategic momentum to unite visions and strengthen synergy among business actors in supporting a conducive investment climate in Batam.
In his speech, Amsakar Achmad emphasised that Kadin plays an important role as a strategic partner to the government. Not only bridging the interests of business actors, but also presenting progressive ideas capable of accelerating economic and investment growth.
“As a strategic partner to the government, we certainly hope that Kadin Batam will perform impressively, with ideas that can spur and accelerate the development of Batam City, Kepri, even Indonesia. Therefore, we are very pleased with this moment of unity consolidation carried out today,” said Amsakar.
Furthermore, Amsakar mentioned that Batam’s economic performance achievements show a positive trend under his leadership alongside the Deputy Head of BP Batam, Li Claudia Chandra.
Batam’s economic growth was recorded to increase from 6.69 percent in 2024 to 6.76 percent in 2025, consistently above the national average.
In the investment sector, the realisation also exceeded the set target. From a target of Rp60 trillion in 2025, Batam successfully recorded an investment realisation of Rp69.3 trillion or 115.5 percent. Meanwhile, in the first quarter of 2026, the investment value showed a significant surge of nearly 103 percent compared to the same period the previous year, from around Rp8 trillion to Rp17.4 trillion.
“This achievement indicates that the governance we are carrying out is already on the right track. It also shows significant support from business actors for the policies we are implementing,” he explained.
Interestingly, the composition of that investment shows a balance between Foreign Investment (PMA) and Domestic Investment (PMDN), reflecting the increasingly strong role of national business actors in driving regional economic growth.
Amsakar is optimistic that with this trend, Batam’s economic growth in the first quarter of 2026 has the potential to approach 7 percent, a sharp increase from 5.17 percent in the same period the previous year. He believes that Kadin’s active role in colouring the economic dynamics will further strengthen these achievements going forward.
“We hope that what is done today does not just stop on paper, but is truly implementative. Strengthening togetherness is far better,” he stressed.
Closing his direction, Amsakar conveyed congratulations on the implementation of the consolidation deliberation of unity and hopes that Kadin Batam can strengthen synergy with BP Batam and the Batam City Government.
“On behalf of BP Batam and the Batam City Government, we congratulate this consolidation deliberation of unity. We hope that Kadin can continue to collaborate in supporting the policies that have been designed, while providing constructive input, especially in investment management and accelerating economic growth,” he concluded.
