Batam Investment Realisation Reaches IDR 29.89 Trillion in First Half of 2026
Investment realisation in Batam reached Rp29.89 trillion in the first half of 2026, comprising foreign direct investment (PMA) of Rp17.80 trillion and domestic direct investment (PMDN) of Rp12.09 trillion. The figure increased compared with the same period the previous year, with PMA growing 53.68 per cent, PMDN 78.25 per cent, and total investment 62.75 per cent. In the second quarter of 2026 alone, investment reached Rp12.41 trillion, with PMA of Rp8.91 trillion and PMDN of Rp3.50 trillion.
The other services sector was the largest contributor to investment in the second quarter of 2026, with a value of Rp3 trillion or 24.18 per cent, followed by the machinery, electronics, medical instruments, electrical equipment, precision, optics and watch industry at Rp2.74 trillion (22.04 per cent). By country of origin, Singapore was the largest investor with Rp6.07 trillion or 48.93 per cent, followed by South Korea at Rp1.17 trillion and China at Rp0.72 trillion. This strengthening of investment also demonstrates Batam’s position as one of the main investment destinations, particularly for the manufacturing and electronics industry.
