As of August 2026, 22 autogate units have been installed across four Immigration Inspection Posts (TPI), including 10 units at Batam Centre, eight at Citra Tritunas Harbour Bay, two at Hang Nadim Airport, and two at Sekupang.

The Batam Class I Special Immigration Office, Riau Islands (Kepri), plans to add autogate facilities at Bengkong Port and Sekupang Port as an effort to accelerate immigration inspections. This is also part of the Directorate General of Immigration’s 2026 Action Plan.

Kharisma Rukmana, Head of the Immigration Information and Communication Section in Batam, stated that the addition of these facilities is being carried out alongside the utilisation of existing autogates installed at several passenger Immigration Inspection Posts (TPI) within the Batam Immigration working area.

Based on the recapitulation from January to August 2026, a total of 1,738,121 crossings were processed through autogate facilities in Batam. This figure consists of 742,493 arrivals and 9ud95,628 departures.

Kharisma noted that TPI Batam Centre is the location with the highest autogate usage, accounting for approximately 65.3 per cent of all autogate use in Batam up to August 2026. Meanwhile, TPI Citra Tritunas at Harbour Bay contributes approximately 33.8 per cent.

As for TPI Sekupang, two autogate units—one for arrivals and one for departures—began usage in July 2026. The trial was conducted on 8 July, and the service went live on 13 July 2026.

Kharisma mentioned that there are still three passenger TPIs that do not yet have autogate facilities: Nongsapura, Bengkong, and Marina Teluk Senimba. Regarding TPI Hang Nadim, he stated that the two installed autogate units have not been utilised to their full potential.
