Batam Cooperative Office records 57 micro businesses utilising Rp20 million loans
The Cooperative and Micro Enterprise Office (Diskum) of Batam City, Riau Islands, has recorded that 57 micro business operators have utilised the subsidised interest loan programme of up to Rp20 million per business as of 19 August 2026.
Head of Diskum Batam Salim said the programme recipients are spread across three banks that have partnered with the Batam City Government.
“As of 19 August 2026, 22 micro businesses have signed loan agreements with BTN, 33 with BRK Syariah and two with Bank Sumut,” Salim said when contacted in Batam on Thursday.
The programme provides access to loans of up to Rp20 million with zero per cent interest, no collateral, and no administrative or provision fees. Loans are provided with a maximum tenor of two years.
The Batam City Government previously partnered with Bank BTN for the interest subsidy programme in 2025, followed by BRK Syariah in June 2026 and Bank Sumut in July 2026.
Salim said programme promotion is carried out by each bank together with Diskum Batam to increase interest among micro business operators in accessing financing.
“Each bank carries out promotion, and from Diskum we also promote this programme to maximise interest among business operators in capital loans,” he said.
To support the programme, the Batam City Government has allocated Rp3 billion through the 2026 regional budget.
In addition to expanding access to capital, Diskum Batam is also encouraging the expansion of market access for MSME products through the D’KUMI Gallery.
The gallery was recently inaugurated at Sekupang International Ferry Terminal and in its initial phase features around 550 types of products from 27 Batam MSME operators.
“D’KUMI Gallery is intended to expand market access while increasing the competitiveness of local products in an international port area where many foreign tourists pass through,” he said.
In the near future, Diskum Batam will also open a D’KUMI Gallery at the Batam City DPRD Building.
Meanwhile, for next year, the office has proposed opening a similar gallery at Hang Nadim International Airport in Batam.
“This is a strategic step to expand market access, increase competitiveness, and promote local products to the national and international level,” he said.
