Batam Civil Servants Resume Work After Eid with WFA Scheme
All Civil Servants (ASN) within the Batam City Government (Pemko) will begin returning to work on Wednesday, 25 March 2026, after the 2026 Eid holiday.
On the first day of resuming work, Pemko Batam will implement a Work From Anywhere (WFA) scheme to ensure a smooth work transition without disrupting public services.
The Head of the Communication and Informatics Office (Kominfo) of Batam, Rudi Panjaitan, stated that the WFA implementation will be carried out in a measured manner with clear task divisions in each Regional Device Organisation (OPD).
“On the 25th, the Work From Anywhere (WFA) concept will apply,” he said on Tuesday (24/3).
He explained that OPD leaders have arranged for employees who must still be present at the office, particularly for direct services to the public. Meanwhile, other ASN will carry out tasks flexibly through the WFA scheme.
According to him, this division is carried out strictly to ensure public services continue optimally even if not all employees are at the office.
“Some employees will still work from the office, while others will carry out WFA in a disciplined and responsible manner,” he clarified.
In addition to the work system arrangements, Pemko Batam has scheduled a joint roll call for all ASN to be held on 30 March 2026.
He mentioned that the roll call will be led directly by the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Batam, and will be combined with a halalbihalal event with all employees.
“The joint roll call will be held on 30 March and combined with halalbihalal,” he revealed.
Furthermore, he conveyed a message from the regional leadership urging all ASN to immediately refocus on carrying out their duties as public servants after the Eid holiday.
ASN are expected to transform the spirit of Eid al-Fitr into a better work ethic, especially in providing public services.
“Upon returning from the Eid al-Fitr holiday, ASN must immediately dedicate themselves as public servants,” he emphasised.
The Batam City Government hopes that this new spirit can improve the quality of services in every agency, while also driving accelerated regional development.
“A good spirit and work ethic will bring progress to the City of Batam,” he concluded.
