Batam Airport: Peak Return Flow on Saturday (28/3) with 18,000 Passengers
Batam (ANTARA) - PT Bandara Internasional Batam (BIB), Kepulauan Riau (Kepri), predicts that the peak of the Lebaran 2026 return flow at Hang Nadim International Airport in Batam will occur on Saturday (28/3) with 18,000 passengers. Operational Director of PT BIB, Anton Marthalius, in Batam on Friday, stated that the peak return flow is expected on H+6 or 28 March 2026, with the number of passengers reaching 18,897. “This figure is the highest during this year’s Lebaran posko period, thus becoming the main focus in strengthening operational services,” said Anton. Overall, passenger movements during the 13-30 March 2026 period are projected to reach 280,920 people, or around 3% growth compared to the Lebaran 2025 period. “In addition to passengers, aircraft movements are also estimated to increase to 1,821 flights or an average of 101 flights per day,” he said. Anton explained that the significant surge in the return flow has been anticipated through improvements in facility readiness, passenger flow arrangements, and strengthened coordination with all airport stakeholders. “We ensure that all aspects, both safety, security, and passenger comfort, remain maintained during the peak return flow,” he said. He added that monitoring of passenger movements during the Lebaran period is carried out in real time through a dashboard at the Lebaran Posko to ensure smooth and controlled operations.
