Basuki says 170 projects in IKN prioritise quality

The Head of the Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) has stated that all 170 projects in IKN, both those already completed and those still under construction, are prioritising quality to guarantee occupant safety, energy efficiency, support long-term economic benefits, and other advantages. “We are constantly tightening occupational health and safety (K3) to minimise workplace accidents. Accidents can happen at any time, so anticipation and vigilance must be prioritised,” said OIKN Head Basuki Hadimuljono in Nusantara on Thursday. He added that in carrying out the work, his team is moving quickly so that the 2028 completion target can be met, but this acceleration is being done safely and comfortably by referring to three development pillars: quality, aesthetics, and environmental sustainability. To ensure all work proceeds according to target, OIKN routinely monitors and evaluates progress together with the private sector/investors, ministries/agencies, construction service providers, construction consultant service providers, and the main construction management. He also stated that IKN development is supported through several financing schemes, namely state budget (APBN) support implemented by ministries, APBN support implemented through Government and Business Entity Cooperation (KPBU) mechanisms, and pure private investment. “For APBN-funded development, it is not only carried out by OIKN but also supported by the Ministry of Public Works and the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas,” he said. The breakdown of the 170 projects includes 40 physical projects managed by OIKN under the state budget, with details of nine packages completed in 2025, 15 packages in the construction stage, and 16 packages in the tender preparation stage. Packages still under construction include the construction of office buildings and judicial and legislative complexes, road networks, embung (small dams), retention ponds, and drinking water pipeline networks as part of the drinking water management system and provision of basic urban services in IKN. The Ministry of Public Works is handling 90 physical work packages, with 78 packages completed and 12 packages still under construction. Several strategic projects currently underway include the IKN Toll Road, the duplication of the Pulau Balang Short Span Bridge, and various other supporting roads. The Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas is managing 12 development packages, with 11 packages completed and one package under construction, namely the construction of flats for low-income communities who have been relocated to support area planning for IKN development. Under the private investment scheme, there are 15 projects. To date, 67 business entities have signed cooperation agreements. Of these, nine projects have been completed, while six projects are entering the construction phase. These projects include the Gunadarma University Nusantara Campus, Abdi Waluyo Hospital, Teras by Plataran, the PT Star Bright International Investment Apartment, the PT Fajar Maju Karya Gemilang Mixed-Use Area, and the PT Dian Jaya Indonesia Apartment. “Meanwhile, through the KPBU scheme, there are 13 unsolicited projects, consisting of seven housing sectors and six road sectors. In the near future, this scheme will enter the construction phase for 108 landed houses initiated by PT Intiland Development Tbk, followed by eight apartment towers initiated by PT Nindya Karya,” Basuki said.
