Basuki Reveals Vice President Gibran to Office in IKN: Building Already Completed
Head of the OIKN, Basuki Hadimuljono, has assured that the development of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) is still progressing as planned. Basuki mentioned that various private investments are continuing to flow in. “It’s still on track, and private sector investments are also ongoing, already exceeding Rp70 trillion,” said Basuki during a working meeting with Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) in Senayan, Central Jakarta. He was questioned by the Chairman of Commission II of the DPR, Rifqinizamy, regarding whether IKN remains on track. Rifqinizamy then raised the plan for Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka to office there, stating that a number of the Vice President’s staff have already been assigned to IKN. “I think yes, because 50 staff have already been assigned there for preparations. Hopefully it will happen soon,” Basuki replied. “This year?” Rifqinizamy asked. “Insha’Allah,” Basuki answered. In a separate encounter, Basuki stated that the Vice President’s building in IKN is already complete. He hopes that this year Vice President Gibran can office in IKN. “That’s just a leaked plan, followed by preparations. As for me, my house is now there, so I hope it happens—that he will truly office there, that’s my hope,” Basuki said. He mentioned that the Vice Presidential Palace can be occupied this year. Besides the building’s architecture, this includes the furnishing. “It can be done this year, because the building is already finished, and the temporary furniture is also ready,” he added.
