The Head of the Nusantara Capital Authority (IKN), Basuki Hadimuljono, stated that the government targets 4,100 civil servants (ASN) to have relocated to IKN by 2028. He mentioned that Minister for Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Rini Widyantini has prepared a schedule for the ASN relocation. “Starting this year, a real timeline has been created by the Minister for PAN-RB, from this year until 2028, at minimum 4,100 must have moved here,” Basuki said in IKN Nusantara, East Kalimantan, on Monday (20/4/2026). Basuki revealed that up to now, 2,200 ASN have already relocated to IKN. With this target, he added, the construction of government buildings in IKN is being expedited. This includes, among others, the parliamentary and judicial buildings. He stated that those buildings are projected to be completed at the latest in the first semester of 2028. “A week ago, the President signed the design approval, so we are now starting. For the offices, 2027. For the judicial and legislative buildings, they must be completed in 2027. At the latest, first semester 2028,” he explained. He also clarified that there are no problems with the construction progress in IKN, including regarding the budget, even though there were some design changes specifically for the parliamentary and judicial buildings. “No (budget changes). We’re not too concerned; the capacity remains the same,” he concluded.
