Jakarta – Nusantara Capital City Authority (OIKN) head Basuki Hadimuljono has requested an additional budget of Rp15.5 trillion in 2027. The proposed budget increase is intended to meet the construction targets for Nusantara Capital City (IKN) in 2028. The proposal was delivered by Basuki during a working meeting with Commission II of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) at the Parliamentary Complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Thursday, 11 June 2026. He explained that the total budget requirement for OIKN in 2027 is Rp22.2 trillion. “An indicative ceiling of Rp6.7 trillion has been allocated, leaving an additional budget requirement of Rp15.5 trillion,” Basuki stated. He explained that the additional budget would be used for the second batch of IKN construction for 2025, 2026, and 2027 amounting to Rp7.4 trillion, and the third batch of construction worth Rp8 trillion under a multi-year contract for 2026-2028. “Thus achieving the objective of Presidential Regulation 79/2025 to establish the IKN area as the national capital by 2028,” he said. Basuki then conveyed that the operational and maintenance costs for completed infrastructure amount to Rp96 billion. “This covers buildings and roads that have already been built; their maintenance has been assigned to the Authority and we require maintenance funds of Rp96 billion,” Basuki concluded.
