BASF to recycle used cassettes
JAKARTA (JP): PT BASF Indonesia, a cassette producer, plans to
recycle used cassettes in its effort to help the government clean
up the environment.
BASF spokesman Asharie Effendy said in a release made
available to The Jakarta Post yesterday that cassette buyers can
return used cassettes to music shops starting Dec. 2.
"A used cassette is worth Rp 200," Asharie said.
PT Basf has appointed Disc Tara shops and the Dandy Center in
Blok M Plaza, Cinere Mall and CitraLand Plaza as drop off points.
The shops will give the used cassettes to the regional
distributor before PT BASF Indonesia recycles them.
"We can save raw material for producing new cassettes and help
the government deal with environmental problems at the same
time," Asharie said. (sur)
