BASF Begins Full Operations of Chemical Plant Complex in China
Zhanjiang (ANTARA) - German chemical giant BASF began full operations of its massive production complex in Guangdong Province on Thursday (26/3), marking the largest single investment fully owned by a German company in China. With an investment of 8.7 billion euros (1 euro = Rp19,533), the integrated site covers an area of approximately 4 square kilometres in Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, the company stated. The complex, known as the Verbund site, has successfully started 32 production lines and produces more than 70 products, including basic chemicals, intermediate materials, and speciality chemicals for the transportation, consumer goods, electronics, and home and personal care industries.
