The National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) has officially closed search and rescue (SAR) operations for landslide victims in Kampung Pasir Kuning and Pasir Kuda, Pasirlangu Village, Cisarua Subdistrict, West Bandung Regency, after 22 days of operations.

“Basarnas officially closed SAR operations for the landslide disaster in Pasirlangu Village after 22 days,” said Bandung SAR Office Chief Ade Dian Permana in Bandung on Friday (2/13).

He explained that the decision to end operations was made after a comprehensive evaluation with the joint SAR team, taking into account technical aspects, search effectiveness, and the safety of personnel in the field.

“The decision to end operations was made through a comprehensive evaluation considering technical aspects, search effectiveness, and personnel safety,” he said.

Over the 22-day operation, the joint SAR team successfully evacuated a total of 101 body bags. Of that number, 83 victims were successfully identified by the West Java Regional Police Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) Team. Ade noted that of the total identified victims, 64 were local residents. All identified remains were immediately handed over to families for burial.

Basarnas also expressed condolences to the families of victims over the disaster and offered apologies if any aspects of the operation did not fully meet expectations.

“We understand that no words can replace the loss. However, we assure that every effort was made to the fullest extent,” Ade said.

The search operation began on January 24, 2026, and concluded on Friday (2/13). Previously, the regional government had lifted the emergency response status for the Cisarua landslide disaster on February 6, 2026.
