Barry Adhitya Officially Appointed as President Director of Lazismu Central

Barry Adhitya has been officially appointed as the President Director of Lazismu Central. According to a written statement on Saturday (4/7/2026), the Secretary of the Lazismu Central Board, Gunawan Hidayat, said the appointment was part of a refresh of the institutional structure at the director level. In addition to Barry’s appointment, Lazismu will also officially introduce its 24th anniversary logo. Barry stated his commitment to continuing Lazismu’s institutional development plans in the aspects of fundraising, distribution, and utilisation, as well as work reporting that has been set out in the strategic plan to realise digital transformation. “In this opportunity, efforts to optimise the networking opportunities of Lazismu across Indonesia to improve service governance and maximise growth are based on a knowledge approach grounded in facts, field observations, and direct experience, so that meaningful learning occurs amidst rapid changes in information technology,” said Barry, who completed his undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Psychology, University of Muhammadiyah Malang. Barry said the current difficult economic conditions are keenly felt by Lazismu, so it must be able to answer the problems needed by the community. From these conditions, there are at least four pillars that need to be prepared. First, the sharia compliance pillar, Lazismu must present tiered reports to donors, partners, the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the National Zakat Agency (Baznas), and the central leadership of Muhammadiyah to ensure that what Lazismu does and the mandate entrusted to it can be carried out in accordance with sharia compliance as its guiding principle. Second, the programme pillar, in this case, programmes that are impactful and sustainable in line with Lazismu’s strategic plan in the national work meeting. “How this can be realised in programmes based on data needs from the government and private sector becomes material for distribution and utilisation.” Barry envisions how in Lazismu’s governance system, especially mosque service offices, can record zakat recipients. This requires sitting together to design the governance so that mosque service offices not only collect but can also distribute to answer the needs of beneficiaries.
