“Permission to report, admin, regarding Gunungkidul beach entry tickets. Yesterday, payment for 8 people/120,000 but the ticket only shows 4 people/60,000. Today, payment for 4 people/60,000 but the ticket only shows 2 people/30,000, and the reason is always a programme error… for example, like this. Where did the rest go?” wrote the Instagram account @info_gunungkidul, as seen by detikJogja on Friday (10/4/2026).
Response from the Regent of Gunungkidul
In response to the viral news, Gunungkidul Regent Endah Subekti Kuntariningsih stated that the Gunungkidul Tourism, Creative Economy, Youth, and Sports Office (Disparekrafpora) has summoned the TPR officer for clarification.
“Today, the TPR officer was called to review, including the CCTV footage, whether those four people indeed paid for four or according to the printout for two because there were two more children,” she told reporters in Wonosari, Gunungkidul, on Friday (10/4/2026).
Endah assured that if the officer is found guilty, sanctions will be imposed. “Of course (if the officer is at fault), we will give sanctions in accordance with the applicable rules,” she said.
Clarification Result: Negligence
The Head of Disparekrafpora Gunungkidul, Hary Sukmono, revealed that the incident occurred at the TPR for the Baron Beach area, Tanjungsari, Gunungkidul. Hary has directly clarified with the TPR officer on duty at the time of the incident.
“The clarification result shows negligence by the officer regarding the fee collection procedure. In addition, there is no intentional element from the TPR officer, but it is acknowledged due to carelessness in carrying out duties,” he explained.
Hary admitted to giving firm sanctions to the TPR officer. He also conveyed an apology to the tourists for the inconvenience that occurred.
“The stance on the violation by the TPR officer who was negligent in carrying out duties will be given a transfer sanction and guidance at the Tourism, Creative Economy, Youth, and Sports Office,” he concluded.
