Barito Pacific Confirms Continued Balance Sheet Consolidation in Indonesia Amid Aggressive Regional Expansion
Barito Pacific Group has emphasised that it continues to position Indonesia as its centre for growth, investment, consolidation, and long-term value creation. This commitment remains steadfast even as the company aggressively expands its business operations across the regional landscape.
The Indonesian conglomerate, which has been operating for 4ermty-seven years since its founding in 1979, possesses a business portfolio spanning basic industries and renewable energy. Through several of its subsidiaries, Barito Pacific is strengthening its position in strategic sectors while simultaneously extending its business reach into regional markets.
Vice President Director of PT Barito Pacific Tbk, Rudy Suparman, explained that within the petrochemical sector, PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk (Chandra Asri Group) serves as one of the primary drivers for the development of the national petrochemical industry. The company is the first in Indonesia to operate a naphtha cracker to meet the raw material requirements of the domestic industry.
In the renewable energy sector, PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (Barito Renewables) operates various geothermal fields with a total capacity reaching 926 MW. This capacity represents the group’s contribution to providing clean electricity and supporting Indonesia’s energy transition agenda.
In recent years, the Barito Pacific Group has increased its integrated business expansion. In the petrochemical sector, Chandra Asri Group continues to add production capacity and develop various derivative products to support domestic industrial needs and reduce dependence on imported products.
In the energy sector, Barito Renewables is also continuously increasing the installed capacity of green energy within its operational areas. This expansion strategy has now been extended to regional markets through investments and the acquisition of several strategic assets abroad. Nevertheless, this regional expansion remains directed towards strengthening the business and industrial base in Indonesia.
“This expansion aims not only to drive business growth and scale but also to strengthen our industrial base in Indonesia as a driver for downstream industrial growth. Through the ownership of the Aster asset in Singapore, Chandra Asri Group can support national energy security by supplying vital petroleum products, such as petrol, jet fuel, gas oil, and bitumen, for the needs of various domestic industries,” said Rudy, as quoted from his statement on Monday, 21 September 2026.
