The legal counsel for the victims in the alleged illegal access case, Krisna Murti, has expressed appreciation to the Directorate of Cyber Crime (Dittipidsiber) of the Indonesian National Police’s Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) for upgrading the status of their report against Mirae Aset Securities Indonesia from an inquiry to an investigation. Krisna revealed that his team has received the latest Notification of Investigation Progress (SP2HP) from the Cyber Bareskrim investigators. In the letter, the police stated that they have found sufficient preliminary evidence of a criminal act in this case. ‘We, as the complainants, have received the SP2HP from Cyber Bareskrim. It states that after the inquiry, sufficient preliminary evidence was found that a criminal act has occurred,’ Krisna said in a statement on Saturday (4/7/2026). Krisna explained that the report covers various serious alleged violations, including illegal access, fund transfers, consumer protection breaches, and money laundering (TPPU). The incident is known to have occurred in Jakarta in early October 2025. With the case now upgraded to the investigation stage, Krisna believes the police have acted professionally and transparently in handling public complaints, especially from aggrieved customers. ‘We give great appreciation to Cyber Bareskrim for upgrading our report to an investigation. This means sufficient preliminary evidence of the alleged crime has been found,’ Krisna stressed. The next step will see Bareskrim investigators issuing official documents for the investigation stage and sending a Notification of Commencement of Investigation (SPDP) to the Attorney General’s Office and the complainants. Krisna hopes the legal process will continue objectively to deliver justice for the victims. The case first came to light after victims filed a report with the Dittipidsiber Bareskrim on 28 November 2025, claiming they lost investments totalling IDR 90 billion due to the alleged illegal access. Mirae Aset stated that an investigation into the alleged illegal access is being conducted jointly with the Financial Services Authority (OJK), involving Self-Regulatory Organizations (SRO) and the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (PPATK). ‘From the initial examination, there is a strong indication that the customer shared their password and account access with another person, which is a serious violation of security guidelines and potentially exposes the account to risk. This finding is still being investigated further,’ Mirae Aset said.
