Bareskrim uncovers temporary paralysis in 'Whip Pink' gas consumer after inhalation
The Narcotics Crime Directorate of Bareskrim Police has revealed that a consumer of nitrous oxide (N2O) branded ‘Whip Pink’ suffered temporary paralysis and required intensive hospital treatment. The individual, identified as AM (29), experienced a loss of limb control, particularly in his legs, leading to a fall down his home stairs during transport to hospital, according to Sub-director III of the Narcotics Crime Directorate, Commissioner of Police Zulkarnain Harahap.
AM became aware of the Whip Pink product from a nightclub in Jakarta North’s PIK area that sold N2O via balloons. He ordered the product through Instagram and was directed to a WhatsApp admin for transactions. AM admitted purchasing and consuming the product from January to March 2026 for personal use. He is still undergoing treatment for effects believed to be caused by the gas.
Zulkarnain stated that AM’s condition aligns with health ministry experts’ warnings about the dangers of using N2O without medical supervision. Investigators also summoned four other consumers: RV (29), CD (29), APG (21), and ZNM (20). One is an Instagram influencer whose video of consuming Whip Pink went viral on the @makassar_iinpo account.
Witness CD admitted ordering Whip Pink more than five times between mid-2025 and early 2026, searching for ‘whip cream’ on Google before being directed to a WhatsApp admin for payment via mobile banking.
Previously, Bareskrim Police Narcotics Crime Directorate Director Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso stated the summoning of consumers followed investigations into PT Suplaindo Sukses Sejahtera witnesses, sales document analysis, and digital forensics on sellers’ phones. ‘One consumer is suspected to have made hundreds of purchases, necessitating questioning about their buying habits,’ he said.
