Eko stated that there were dozens of monitors, referred to as ‘snipers’, on guard day and night. The number of personnel on duty was higher during the night compared to the day. “This syndicate employs dozens of monitors called ‘snipers’, equipped with Handy Talkies (HT) to monitor the movements of authorities and buyers. At night, their numbers reach 31, while during the day, there are 22 people,” Eko said on Sunday (17/5/2026).

Eko noted that there were several layers of surveillance in Gang Langgar. The outermost layer of monitoring was conducted at a minimarket located near the drug den. “The suspect acting as a sniper or monitor in front of the minimarket would provide a subtle hand signal meaning ‘enter-enter’, and then the sniper would relay information via Handy Talkie,” Eko explained.

Buyers of crystal methamphetamine would be guided and monitored by snipers stationed within Gang Langgar. There were several layers of security zones before a buyer could reach the drug stall. In the outer area, buyers were monitored by snipers as they were escorted to the stall. “Along the road before reaching Block F, there were 21 monitors holding Handy Talkies, including those tasked with guiding users purchasing drugs at the Gang Langgar Block F stall,” he said.

Buyers would be brought to an intersection in Block F, where only one person was permitted to enter for the narcotics transaction. “At the intersection of Gang Blok F, Gang Langgar, the snipers mandated that only one rider could enter the drug sales location. If travelling in pairs, one person had to dismount and wait at the Block F intersection under the surveillance of the snipers,” he added.

The buyer would then proceed to the sales location to complete the transaction. Users who reached the Block F sales point would pay according to their needs, with one small clip priced at Rp150,000 and multiples thereof.

Security measures also extended to the stall or a house owned by H Endi, who is currently on the Most Wanted list (DPO). Police seized surveillance cameras, a samurai sword, and even a drone. “The joint team also managed to secure two CCTV cameras, one samurai sword, and dozens of envelopes,” said Ecom. “One ASUS PC set and one DJI Mavic drone were also seized.”

Previously, the Narcotics Sub-Directorate of the National Police Bareskrim arrested 11 people during a raid on the drug den in Samarinda, East Kalimantan. This drug syndicate has been operating for approximately four years. AKBP Bayu Putra Samara, Head of Unit 2 Sub-Directorate 4 of the Narcotics Sub-Directorate Bareskrim Polri, told reporters at the Bareskrim Building in South Jakarta on Saturday (16/5/2026) that the syndicate was highly elusive. He noted that the suspects had escaped several times during previous police operations, but this time, all were successfully apprehended.
