The Narcotics Directorate of the National Police Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim Polri) has transferred drug suspect Andre Fernando Tjandra, alias Charlie, alias ‘The Doctor’, to the South Jakarta District Prosecutor’s Office (Kejari Jaksel). The transfer was carried out after the case file was declared complete, or P21.

The handover of the suspect and evidence (Stage II) took place on Tuesday (4/8/2026) at midday at the South Jakarta District Prosecutor’s Office. The transfer was carried out by the investigative team of Unit V, Sub-Directorate IV of the Narcotics Directorate at Bareskrim Polri.

“The investigative team of Sub-Directorate IV of the Narcotics Directorate at Bareskrim Polri has handed over the suspect named Andre Fernando Tjandra, along with the evidence, to the Public Prosecutor at the South Jakarta District Prosecutor’s Office,” said the Head of Sub-Directorate IV of the Narcotics Directorate at Bareskrim Polri, Police Grand Commissioner Handik Zusen, in a written statement on Wednesday (5/8/2026).

Handik explained that the transfer was a follow-up after prosecutors declared that the case file met the requirements to proceed to trial. He said investigators also submitted a number of items of evidence seized from the suspect.

“The process of transferring the suspect and evidence, or Stage II, ran safely, in an orderly manner, and smoothly overall,” Handik explained.

‘The Doctor’ played a central role in preparing or organising the distribution of narcotics within an international network. He was known to be slippery and frequently moved from place to place to evade pursuing officers.
