Brigadier General Irhamni said this is the first summons for AT. The examination is intended to determine AT’s role.
“This is the first summons. Yesterday, we rescheduled for the 21st, which means tomorrow, Tuesday,” he said.
“(AT’s role) We are still conducting in-depth investigations. Tomorrow, during the suspect examination, we will ascertain the extent of the individual’s involvement. We will update on the individual’s roles based on their statements during the examination,” he concluded.
It was previously reported that Bareskrim Polri cracked down on illegal nickel mining activities in Morombo Pantai Village, North Konawe, Southeast Sulawesi. Two individuals have been designated as suspects in this case.
Dirtipidter of Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Mohammad Irhamni, stated that the nickel mine operated in a forested area without permits. The crackdown was based on police report number LP/A/114/XII/2025/SPKT.DITTIPIDTER/BARESKRIM POLRI dated 4 December 2025.
“Based on investigation results, activities involving soil excavation and nickel extraction were found outside valid permits. During the examination, the company failed to produce valid Mining Business Permits (IUP) for the operational area,” Irhamni said in his statement on Monday (16/3).
As a result, police halted all activities at the site. From the location, investigators also seized several pieces of evidence.
“Police seized four dump trucks, three heavy equipment excavators, and one haulage logbook in this case,” Irhamni stated.
Additionally, investigators examined 27 witnesses. The results of the examinations and crime scene processing indicated illegal nickel mining activities involving PT Masempo Dalle.
“Bareskrim has designated AT, as Director of PT Masempo Dalle, and MSW, as the acting Director/Proxy for PT Masempo Dalle, as suspects,” Irhamni emphasised.
