Bareskrim Reveals Role of Andre Fernando 'The Doctor' in International Drug Syndicate
The Narcotics Crime Directorate (Dittipidnarkoba) of Bareskrim Polri has revealed new facts regarding an international drug network involving Andre Fernando alias The Doctor. This drug lord, who was once a fugitive, served as a strategic intermediary for two major bosses operating from abroad.
Dirtipidnarkoba Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General of Police Eko Hadi Santoso, explained that Andre Fernando acted as a bridge between suppliers and customers in Indonesia, including supplying the Koko Erwin syndicate in Bima, West Nusa Tenggara, as well as networks in the Jakarta nightspot White Rabbit.
“Andre as an intermediary, while his two bosses are known not to know each other,” said Brig. Gen. Pol. Eko in a written statement received in Jakarta on Wednesday (8/4/2026).
Based on the investigation results, Andre’s two bosses have different backgrounds but are both based in Malaysia.
In this organisational structure, Andre not only acted as a distributor but also as a guarantor of transactions between Hendra and Tomy and customers in the country.
Andre Fernando has been on the Wanted Persons List (DPO) since 1 March 2026. He is known to have managed the smuggling of narcotics into Indonesia via land routes and cargo delivery services.
The illicit commodities supplied by the ‘The Doctor’ network include various types of synthetic and conventional drugs, among them methamphetamine, etomidate vapes, and happy water.
Police continue to conduct in-depth investigations to break this distribution chain, particularly those targeting night entertainment venues in major cities like Jakarta and the NTB region.
