Bareskrim Refers TAUD Report on Andrie Yunus Case to Polda Metro Jaya

JAKARTA - The Directorate of General Criminal Acts (Dittipidum) of Bareskrim Polri has referred a type B report submitted by the Advocacy Team for Democracy (TAUD) related to the acid attack on Andrie Yunus to Polda Metro Jaya.

Director of General Criminal Acts at Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Wira Satya Triputra, stated that the referral was made because the location, time of the incident, and subject matter were deemed identical to a previous report handled by Polda Metro Jaya.

“Because the locus and tempus are the same, and the subject matter is also the same,” Wira said when met at Bareskrim Polri, Jakarta, on Friday (8/5/2026).

“That’s not it. If we’re from Bareskrim, it’s like starting from a petrol station, from zero again,” Wira added.

“Meanwhile, there, evidence has already been gathered, witnesses have been examined,” he continued.

Nevertheless, Wira assured that Bareskrim would continue to provide assistance in handling the case.

Coordinator of the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (Kontras), Dimas Bagus Arya, said the report is a follow-up to the transfer of evidence from the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of Polda Metro Jaya to the TNI Military Police Centre (Puspom).

“So, today we are following it up by making a type B report or a direct report from the victim, represented by the Advocacy Team for Democracy, submitting this report to the Headquarters of the Indonesian National Police,” Dimas Bagus Arya said at Bareskrim Polri.

Furthermore, the report will utilise Articles 600, 601, and 602 of the New Criminal Code, as well as Law Number 1 of 2023 on Special Criminal Acts, particularly concerning terrorism offences.

“Related to attempted premeditated murder. And also responding to what was stated by Mr Prabowo yesterday, that the action against Andrie is part of a terrorist act, so we are also using the construction of terrorism criminal articles,” Dimas said.
