Bareskrim raids New Zone nightclub in Medan, 34 people detained

On Saturday, 23 May 2026, at approximately 03:25 WIB, a joint team conducted enforcement at the New Zone nightclub in Medan,” said Dirtipidnarkoba Bareskrim Polri Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso in a statement released on Saturday (23/5/2026).

The case was revealed as the result of the cooperation between Subdit IV Dittipidnarkoba Bareskrim Polri led by Kombes Handik Zusen and the NIC Task Force led by Kombes Kevin Leleury. In the operation, 34 people were detained, comprising the owners, managers, staff, adult visitors, and underage visitors.

“34 people were detained, consisting of owners, managers, staff, adult visitors, and underage visitors,” Brigadier General Eko said.

Additionally, the team seized a number of narcotics from the scene. However, Eko did not detail the types and quantities of narcotics found at the nightclub.

Following the raid, officers immediately conducted urine tests on all those detained. The results showed that some tested positive for drug use.

“Of the 34 people detained, urine tests were conducted and some tested positive for drug use,” Eko said.

Currently, the 34 individuals have been taken to Bareskrim Polri for further questioning. Police are still examining the roles of each party in the distribution or use of drugs at the location.

“Next, those detained will be taken to the Bareskrim Polri office for further examination,” he concluded.
