Bareskrim Polri Transfers Drug Lord Koko Erwin Case to Bima District Attorney

Mataram (ANTARA) - Investigators from the Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) of the Indonesian National Police have transferred the suspect and evidence in a methamphetamine trafficking case involving Koko Erwin, alias Erwin Iskandar, to public prosecutors at the Bima District Attorney’s Office in West Nusa Tenggara.

Virdis Firmanillah Putra, Head of the Intelligence Section at the Bima District Attorney’s Office, stated that the phase two handover also includes suspect Akhsan Al Fadhil, who is alleged to have acted as a methamphetamine courier intermediary.

“That is correct, today we received the phase two transfer for suspect Erwin Iskandar from Bareskrim Polri,” Virdis said via telephone on Wednesday.

He noted that the case files for both suspects had been declared complete by the examining prosecutor.

“Because the locus delicti is in Bima, the prosecution will be conducted in Bima, including the execution of the phase two transfer as part of the prosecution process,” he stated.

Following the transfer, the public prosecutor will continue the detention of both suspects at the Class IIB Raba Bima State Detention Centre.

In this case, Koko Erwin is alleged to be a drug lord who delivered Rp1 billion to former Bima City Police Chief Didik Putra Kuncoro through an intermediary named Malaungi. The arrest was made after investigators obtained information from suspect Malaungi.

Koko Erwin was apprehended while allegedly attempting to flee to Malaysia via a sea route in the waters off Tanjung Balai, North Sumatra, on 26 February 2026.
