The Criminal Investigation Agency of the Indonesian National Police (Bareskrim Polri) has expressed its condolences over the death of Police Brigadier Two Nopandri Ramadhana during an operation to arrest a drug dealer in Katingan Regency, Central Kalimantan. Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, Director of Narcotics Crime at Bareskrim, extended his sympathies to the family of the deceased and the entire police force for the loss of the young officer. “The deceased fell while carrying out his duties. May the deceased find the best place by God Almighty’s side, and may the family left behind be granted fortitude and strength,” Eko said in a statement in Jakarta on Saturday. He stressed that the incident is a matter of serious concern for Bareskrim, and a joint team is currently working to fully investigate the event. The team is continuing to pursue the suspects believed to be involved. Eko emphasised that the pursuit will not stop until all perpetrators are apprehended and processed according to the law. He explained that Bareskrim has coordinated with the Central Kalimantan Regional Police and the Katingan Police in the investigation and the manhunt for those responsible. He also urged members of the public who have information regarding the whereabouts of the perpetrators to immediately report it to the police. “We urge the public to support the law enforcement process by providing information that can assist the investigation. Every piece of information will be followed up,” he said. Bareskrim has pledged to investigate the case thoroughly as a commitment to delivering justice for the officer who died in the line of duty. A joint team had earlier recovered a body believed to be that of Bripda Nopandri, who was reported missing during a raid on a suspected methamphetamine dealer in Tumbang Kalemei Village, Katingan Regency. “It is true, the joint team successfully found the body suspected to be Bripda Nopandri in the Katingan River. The victim’s body was found within a radius of approximately four kilometres from the raid location,” said Katingan Police Chief AKBP Dodik Hartono when confirmed in Palangka Raya on Saturday. According to information from the field, the body was found snagged on bamboo branches and wood in the Katingan River current. The joint team subsequently evacuated the body to the Bhayangkara Hospital in Palangka Raya for further examination and identification. “The body has been taken to the hospital for further examination.
