The Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) of the Indonesian National Police is continuing to investigate drug trafficking at nightlife entertainment venues in Batam, Riau Islands. Following the arrest of Basri Lewangi, Bareskrim is now pursuing Yuwanky, a nightclub owner and alleged drug kingpin.

The Directorate of Drug Crimes at Bareskrim has placed Yuwanky on the Wanted Persons List (DPO). The DPO designation is set out in letter number DPO/142/VIII/2026/Dittipidnarkoba.

Yuwanky is an Indonesian citizen, born in Selat Panjang on 6 May 1959. He is described as having straight black hair, fair skin, and no tattoos.

‘The individual has already fled to Singapore,’ said Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, Director of Drug Crimes at Bareskrim, in a statement on Thursday (20/8/2026).

Eko Hadi said investigators from the Drug Crimes Directorate are continuing to pursue the suspect, working with the Police International Relations Division and Interpol.

Eko stated that Yuwanky is the owner of a nightclub in Batam. He is suspected of running a drug business as a kingpin together with suspect Basri Lewaimang.

‘Yuwanky, as the owner of Planet Batam nightclub, is also a drug kingpin who supplied various types of narcotics at Planet Batam nightclub together with suspect Basri,’ he said.

Eko added that Yuwanky has previously been convicted in a similar case. He is a repeat drug offender.

‘The individual is a repeat drug offender,’ he said.
