Bareskrim Hunts Drug Lord Amrin Siregar from Sumut-NTB Network
The Directorate of Drug Crimes (Dittipidnarkoba) of Bareskrim Polri is hunting for Amrin Siregar, a methamphetamine dealer linked to a North Sumatra-West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) network. Amrin has now been placed on the wanted list (DPO).
“DPO for the Tanjung Balai dealer in connection with the illicit drug trafficking case of the Sumut-NTB syndicate, named Amrin Siregar,” said Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, Director of Drug Crimes at Bareskrim Polri, in a statement on Tuesday (23/6/2026).
The DPO status for Amrin is documented in letter Number DPO/96/VI/2026/Dittipidnarkoba dated 22 June 2026, signed by Senior Commissioner Handik Zusen, the Head of Sub-Directorate IV who is leading the investigation.
“Amrin Siregar is to be monitored, arrested, handed over, or have his whereabouts reported to investigator Commissioner Tomy Haryono at the aforementioned police office, via number +81 9066008469,” Eko stated.
Bareskrim has also released a photograph of Amrin, who is 56 years old. He is described as having black hair, black eyes, a medium nose, and brown skin.
Case Uncovered
Previously, Dittipidnarkoba Bareskrim Polri uncovered a methamphetamine smuggling operation in Lampung and West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). During the operation, police arrested four suspects.
The four suspects are Yulio Rifki (29), a student; Hendry Prayogi (33); Romatua Harahap alias Rei (32); and Yusnirwin (57), a fisherman who acted as a local dealer and liaison agent. A total of 1.4 kilograms of methamphetamine was seized as evidence.
Brigadier General Eko stated that the case came to light after a joint team led by Senior Commissioner Handik Zusen conducted enhanced routine activities (KRYD) at Bakauheni Port, South Lampung, in the early hours of Sunday (7/6). Officers inspected passengers carrying suspicious items on a bus.
“Officers were suspicious of an active speaker carried by Yulio Fikri alias Rizki because it had an unusual weight. After dismantling it, two packages of methamphetamine were found hidden inside the speaker, with a gross weight of 412 grams,” Brigadier General Eko Hadi told reporters on Monday (22/6).
Following the discovery, a joint team from Dittipidnarkoba conducted a controlled delivery to Lombok, NTB, to identify the recipient and the network involved. During a re-examination of the suspect’s belongings, officers found another package of methamphetamine weighing 213 grams hidden inside a laptop.
“Based on the controlled delivery, field surveillance, and interrogation of the suspect, the team successfully identified and arrested Hendri Prayogi in Central Lombok on 12 June 2026 as the party receiving and controlling the drug shipments in the Lombok region,” he explained.
During interrogation, suspects Hendri and Yulio Fikri admitted that three more packages of methamphetamine had been left on the bus. The team then coordinated with the Sungai Lilin Police and re-examined the bus, successfully finding the three additional packages with a total gross weight of 620 grams.
Further investigation revealed that the drug shipments were linked to suspect Romatua Harahap, who acted as the supplier for Yulio Rifki and Hendry Prayogi. Romatua was arrested by the joint team in Labuhan Batu, North Sumatra, on 19 June 2026.
“From the examination of Yusnirwin, information was obtained that the source of the narcotics supply was Armin Siregar alias Tumbing. The team pursued the individual, but he managed to escape and is currently still being sought,” he revealed.
