Bareskrim Destroys 41 Seized Drug Vapes from Network in Riau

Deputy Head of Subdirectorate II of the Narcotics Crime Directorate at Bareskrim Polri, Commissioner Awaludin Amin, stated that the evidence was seized from two suspects, Hendi alias Asiong and Robi Nofiardi. Both were presented during today’s destruction. “The destruction of evidence was carried out by the Subdirectorate II investigation team of the Narcotics Crime Directorate at Bareskrim Polri. The evidence destroyed consisted of 41 etomidate narcotic cartridges,” said Awaludin Amin in his statement on Monday (4/5/2026). The destruction took place at the National Police Headquarters in South Jakarta. Bareskrim involved the Centre for Forensic Laboratories (Puslabfor) and the Prosecutor’s Office to verify all the evidence. “Officers from Puslabfor Bareskrim Polri checked all the etomidate narcotic cartridge evidence. It was then placed into a combustion machine in the car park incinerator at the Bareskrim Polri Building,” he explained. Previously, the Narcotics Crime Directorate at Bareskrim Polri arrested a man working as a sailor named Hendi alias Asiong (36) in a hotel car park in the Pekanbaru area, Riau. From him, 43 ready-to-distribute etomidate-containing vape cartridges were seized. “The Subdirectorate II investigation team of the Narcotics Crime Directorate at Bareskrim successfully uncovered etomidate,” said the Director of Narcotics Crimes at Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, in his statement on Wednesday (15/4/2026). The apprehension occurred on Tuesday (14/4) when the team received information about an etomidate vape transaction. Tracing was conducted, leading to the suspect’s arrest at a hotel in the Pekanbaru area. “During the search of the hotel room, in a pink plastic bag, there were 43 THUGS brand etomidate cartridges,” Eko explained. Eko stated that Asiong admitted to buying the etomidate cartridges from someone with the initial R, 50 pieces for Rp 98 million. “The etomidate cartridges were bought by someone with the initial R for Rp 98,000,000 and admitted to having conducted four similar purchase transactions since March 2026,” he revealed. According to Eko, the suspect also obtained and consumed the etomidate vape. The suspect obtained it from an acquaintance with the initial R.
