Bareskrim Arrests South Tangerang Police Narcotics Chief and Six Others; Police Chief Claims AKP Pardiman Not Involved

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SOUTH TANGERANG - The South Tangerang (Tangsel) police chief, AKBP Boy Jumalolo, has stated that the head of the Narcotics Investigation Unit (Kasat Resnarkoba), AKP Pardiman, holds the status of a witness in the handling of a case involving the possession and circulation of 200 cartridges of etomidate. Boy said his subordinate was not involved in the case currently being handled by the National Police Criminal Investigation Bureau (Bareskrim).

“The narcotics unit chief is not involved, because he was ordered to appear as a witness before Bareskrim when the individual with the initials DD was arrested,” Boy said in Tangerang on Tuesday (28/7/2026).

He revealed that in the handling of this narcotics case, the narcotics unit chief was confirmed to have no involvement in the alleged drug abuse case. Nevertheless, his subordinates were ordered to appear before Bareskrim Polri along with other personnel as witnesses during the arrest of an individual with the initials DD.

“So AKP Pardiman was not arrested and is not involved,” he said.

Boy explained that AKP Pardiman is currently undergoing examination by the Profession and Security Division (Propam) of Metro Jaya Regional Police, in his capacity as narcotics unit chief, a post that carries a supervisory function over the members of his unit.

“He is being examined by the Propam of Metro Jaya Regional Police because, as head of the narcotics investigation unit, he holds a supervisory function over its members,” he said.

In this regard, the South Tangerang police support the legal process and the firm measures taken by Metro Jaya Regional Police in eradicating drug abuse and illicit narcotics circulation, including in cases where police members are proven to have committed offences.

“We remain firm in eradicating drugs, in line with the instructions of the Metro Jaya Regional Police Chief,” Boy said.

AKP Pardiman, the narcotics unit chief of South Tangerang police, was previously reported to have been arrested by a joint team from Bareskrim Polri on suspicion of involvement in a narcotics distribution network. The mid-ranking officer was arrested along with five subordinates at South Tangerang police and one officer from Aceh Regional Police.
