Bareskrim Arrests Drug Courier Before Escape, Ko Erwin's Right-Hand Man Genda Captured

The Narcotics Crime Directorate of Indonesia’s National Police (Bareskrim Polri) has arrested Akhsan Al-Fadhil, also known as Genda, 53, at a food stall in Pekanbaru, Riau on Tuesday, 24 February 2026. He was apprehended for serving as the right-hand man and crystal methamphetamine courier for drug trafficker Erwin Iskandar, known as Ko Erwin, operating in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, Director of the Narcotics Crime Directorate at Bareskrim Polri, explained that Genda was captured following investigative developments into Ko Erwin’s activities.

“Based on examination of Erwin, information was obtained that in conducting narcotics distribution activities, the individual did not act alone but together with an associate, namely Genda, who also played a role in crystal methamphetamine distribution activities in the Bima region of West Nusa Tenggara,” Eko stated in a written statement on Sunday, 1 March 2026.

He added that authorities successfully traced Genda’s whereabouts as he attempted to flee to the Pekanbaru region in Riau Province. On Tuesday, 24 February 2026, a combined team from the Bareskrim Polri Narcotics Subdirectorate and the NIC Task Force conducted an operation in Pekanbaru. Around 22:00 WIB, the team successfully secured Genda at a food stall located on Jalan SM Amin, Pekanbaru, Riau.

“Based on initial interrogation of Genda, the individual acknowledged that he cooperated with Erwin in crystal methamphetamine distribution activities in the Bima region of West Nusa Tenggara,” Eko stated.

Genda also confessed that he and Erwin had transported crystal methamphetamine totalling 500 grams and one kilogram, obtained from someone known as Bos Aceh, for subsequent distribution in the Bima region of West Nusa Tenggara. The narcotics were transported from Jakarta to Bima via road using Erwin’s black Toyota Raize.

Upon arrival at Hotel Marina Inn in Bima City around 20:00 WITA, Genda brought 500 grams of crystal methamphetamine to room 415 for re-weighing, after which the substances were stored in the hotel room.

“Subsequently, the 500 grams of crystal methamphetamine was collected by AKP Maulangi, the Narcotics Chief of Bima City Police,” Eko stated.
