The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has closed the White Rabbit nightclub business premises in the Pantai Indah Kapuk area, North Jakarta. The Narcotics Crime Directorate (Dittipidnarkoba) of the National Police Headquarters appreciates the Provincial Government’s action.

The Director of Narcotics Crimes at the National Police Headquarters, Police Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, stated that the sealing and revocation of the permit was not without reason. According to him, the action is a quick response to serious findings related to drug circulation at the location.

“We appreciate the quick response and firmness of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. This step sends a strong message that there is no room for entertainment venues that allow or become a means of drug circulation,” said Brigadier General Eko in his statement on Saturday (25/4/2026).

Eko stated that the synergy between law enforcement apparatus and local government is considered a new standard in creating a clean and safe entertainment environment from the clutches of prohibited substances.

“The administrative action taken by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is very appropriate to provide a deterrent effect,” said Eko.

The National Police Headquarters, continued Eko, remains committed to monitoring drug circulation hotspots in the capital. He hopes that the bold step by the Jakarta Provincial Government becomes a role model for other regions so they do not hesitate to revoke business permits that violate the law.

“This synergy is the key. We from the criminal side will pursue the perpetrators, and the Provincial Government from the administrative side will close their room to manoeuvre. This is our effort to protect the community, especially the younger generation,” added Eko.

For information, the permit revocation was carried out after a joint team found evidence of serious violations related to the misuse of prohibited substances. That, in accordance with the Governor’s Regulation (Pergub) of DKI Jakarta, locations proven to be places of drug transactions must be closed without mediation.

“This operational halt ensures there is no loophole for the managers to operate again in the same format at that location,” he concluded.
