Bareskrim and Riau Customs Arrest Drug Courier, 1 Package of Methamphetamine Seized

Jakarta — A joint team from the Bareskrim National Police Narcotics Crime Directorate and Riau Customs uncovered methamphetamine trafficking in the Rokan Hulu area of Riau Province. In the operation, officers apprehended one suspect along with evidence consisting of one large package containing methamphetamine.

The operation was carried out by Subdirectorate II of the Bareskrim Narcotics Crime Directorate and Riau Customs on Saturday evening (February 14, 2026). The operation was a follow-up to public tips regarding narcotics transaction activity in the area.

“The suspect, identified by the initials S (35), was apprehended on Jalan Poros Desa Kota Lama, Kunto Darussalam District, Rokan Hulu Regency,” said Bareskrim Narcotics Crime Directorate Director Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso in his statement on Saturday (February 15, 2026).

During the search, the team discovered several pieces of evidence, including a large package containing methamphetamine inside a backpack, one mobile phone, and one Yamaha RX King motorcycle.

Brigadier General Eko Hadi said his office is still investigating the suspect’s involvement and tracing the narcotics network above him. The suspect is currently being held at Bareskrim headquarters.

Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso affirmed his office’s commitment to conducting a thorough investigation. “Our follow-up plan is to develop the network leads and ensure this case is investigated to completion,” he concluded.
