Bareskrim Accompanies Customs PPNS in Overseeing Transfer of Suspect in Customs Case
The PPNS Oversight Team from Bareskrim Polri provided tactical and technical assistance to the PPNS of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise under the Ministry of Finance in carrying out the second-stage transfer of suspect with initials GG along with evidence to the Ketapang District Prosecutor’s Office. Under the supervision of the PPNS Oversight Team from Bareskrim Polri, the suspect GG was released from the Salemba Detention Branch at the DJBC Head Office. After undergoing a health examination and being declared fit, the suspect was escorted to West Kalimantan via Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Supadio Pontianak Airport, and Rahadi Oesman Ketapang Airport. Upon arrival in Ketapang, the suspect and evidence were handed over to the Public Prosecutor at the Ketapang District Prosecutor’s Office. This case pertains to alleged criminal acts in the customs sector as per Article 102 letter a of Law No. 10 of 1995 on Customs. The Head of the PPNS Oversight Team from Bareskrim Polri, Brigjen Edy Suranta Sitepu, stated that the accompaniment represents the Polri’s support through coordination and oversight functions for PPNS. “Polri, through the PPNS Oversight function, provides tactical, technical support, and security so that the law enforcement process runs orderly, safely, and in accordance with procedures,” said Brigjen Edy in his statement on Tuesday (12/5/2026). Brigjen Edy assured that the entire second-stage transfer process of the suspect and evidence carried out by the Customs and Excise PPNS under the Ministry of Finance proceeded in accordance with procedures. “This accompaniment is carried out professionally, accountably, and still prioritising the presumption of innocence principle,” he concluded.
