Barclays Capital opens office here

JAKARTA: Barclays Capital, the investment banking division of
Barclays Bank Plc, officially opened an office here on Wednesday
evening.

"The opening of the new Barclays Capital Jakarta office is a
clear signal of our firm commitment to Indonesia, which we view
as an important market for us in Asia Pacific," Robert Morrice,
chairman and chief executive of Barclays Capital in Asia Pacific,
said in a release.

British Ambassador to Indonesia Charles Humfrey, who attended
the opening ceremony, said, "The opening (of the office) is
another example of the strengthening ties between British and
Indonesian business."

Barclays Capital provides corporate, financial institutions,
governments and supranational organizations with solutions to
