Barcelona Target Andrea Cambiaso as Juventus Set to Slash Asking Price
Barcelona is reportedly drawing up a detailed plan to sign Italian international wing-back Andrea Cambiaso in the upcoming summer transfer window, as interest from the Catalan club grows.
The opportunity for Barcelona appears strong as Juventus are said to be prepared to lower their transfer fee demands compared with the same period last year.
Barcelona’s interest had been detectable for several months and is now entering a more serious phase. Informal initial negotiations are reportedly underway, with formal discussions between the clubs’ management expected to take place in the coming weeks.
The German tactician, who recently extended his contract at Spotify Camp Nou until 2028, believes Cambiaso’s versatility and exceptional football intelligence make him well-suited to the modern style of play he wants to implement.
Over the Serie A campaign this season, the wing-back has been a regular, with 35 appearances and contributions of three goals and four assists for Juventus.
Juventus previously held out with a high release price, hitting 70 million euros, a figure that prompted Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola to pause his pursuit.
However, the balance of power has shifted due to internal conditions in Turin. With the threat of not qualifying for European competition next season, the Italian club is reportedly softening and ready to evaluate offers around 50 million euros (approximately Rp 1 trillion).
