Barbaric acts

I'm very disappointed by the barbaric acts committed by the country's military during the Special Session of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), which claimed more than a dozen lives. I strongly support the students movement that aims to reform the whole regime. As a citizen of Indonesia, I strongly hope that the people, professionals, bureaucrats and military members who still have a conscience and clean hearts make an effort to fix this country.

I urge the students to put in their hearts a vision that one day those responsible for the massacre are made to pay. I ask you to study hard. Remember, it took 18 years for Lt. Gen. Chun Do Hwan in Korea to be sentenced by a clean judiciary. It may also take that long for us to put them in jail. But don't loose hope, be strong and take courage.
