Barantin launches Finquest to accelerate quarantine development
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s Quarantine Agency (Barantin) has launched a financing innovation for quarantine development named Finquest to accelerate the modernisation of quarantine infrastructure and services across Indonesia.
Head of the Planning and Cooperation Bureau of Barantin, Benny Alamsyah, stated that Finquest is designed to integrate various funding sources so that quarantine development does not solely rely on the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN).
“Finquest emerges as a strategic breakthrough in transforming quarantine development financing from various funding sources,” said Benny in his statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.
He explained that the funding sources integrated through Finquest include APBN, Government and Business Entity Cooperation (KPBU), Foreign Loans and Grants (PHLN), state sharia securities (SBSN), as well as investments or collaborations with investors.
“Through the Finquest innovation, it is hoped that it can strengthen and sustain the transformation process of Barantin, thereby enabling the delivery of a modern, adaptive, and integrated quarantine system,” he said.
He stated that the initial implementation of this financing transformation will be evident in 2025, when the modernisation of laboratory equipment for the revitalisation programme reaches 18 technical implementing units with a value of Rp34.45 billion.
In 2026, Barantin has allocated a budget of Rp307 billion, including Rp79 billion from SBSN for the construction of installations, laboratory buildings, laboratory equipment, and improvements to service facilities.
