Bara JP to Withdraw Endorsements if Seven of Its Members in State-Owned Enterprises Are Incompetent
At the Second Plenary Session of the DPP Bara JP, held at Park Hotel Cawang, Cawang, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, on Saturday 23 May 2025, Willem Frans Ansanay, the organisation’s chairman, said it would withdraw its endorsements for seven members who sit on state‑owned enterprises if they are deemed incompetent and fail to make a real contribution.
“If they are not productive, do not have capacity, and do not provide a tangible contribution to the country’s development going forward, then in our plenary decision we will write to them and tell them that this is no longer Bara JP’s endorsement,” Willem said after the Second Plenary on Saturday.
Ansanay emphasised that the evaluation looks not only at contributions to the state but also to the organisation itself. “Just like a political party, when endorsing its members in the DPR, they must contribute to the organisation,” he asserted.
Willem said that in another plenary session, the organisation accepted a mandate from the seventh President Joko Widodo to back the government of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka for two terms. “Thus, Jokowi has directed Bara JP to support Prabowo‑Gibran for two terms, and we will continue to uphold that,” he said.
Frans added that to date Bara JP has not received any instruction from Jokowi to support Gibran alone without Prabowo. “We have not received such instruction. His directive to date is to support Prabowo‑Gibran for two terms,” he asserted.
Frans said Bara JP would also correct opinions that are perceived as conflicting with that direction. “If there are political interests or opinions that oppose the government, our duty is to set things straight — just as Jokowi, as the patron of Bara JP, directs,” he said.
Frans stated the evaluation covers the implementation of programmes and the organisation’s consolidation from the central to regional levels. In the plenary, Bara JP also discussed national political developments, including criticisms and issues directed at Jokowi after he no longer serves as president.
