JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Chairman of Barisan Relawan Jokowi Presiden (Bara JP), Willem Frans Ansanay, said that his organisation had received a mandate from the seventh President of Indonesia Joko Widodo to support the administration of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka for two terms.

This was one of the outcomes of the II Plenary Session of the DPP Bara JP held at Park Hotel Cawang, Cawang, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, on Saturday, 23 May 2025.

‘So, Mr Jokowi has given directions to Bara JP to support Prabowo-Gibran for two terms. So, we will continue to oversee that,’ Frans said after the II Plenary Session of Bara JP.

Frans stressed that, to date, Bara JP has never received directions from Jokowi to only support Gibran without Prabowo.

According to Frans, Bara JP will also address various opinions considered to be contrary to the direction of the support.

‘If there are political interests or opinions that are at odds with the government, our duty is to correct them. Just as directed by Mr Jokowi, as the Patron of Bara JP,’ he said.

Besides discussing support for the Prabowo-Gibran administration, the II Plenary Session of Bara JP also evaluated the organisation’s work programme over almost a year of leadership.

Frans said the evaluation looked at programme implementation and organisational consolidation from the central to the regional levels.

In the meeting, Bara JP also discussed national political developments, including criticisms and issues directed at Jokowi after he is no longer president.

According to Frans, Bara JP believes Jokowi’s leadership over two terms has had a real impact on society.

‘We conclude that what Mr Jokowi has done has been felt by the people of our nation, the Indonesian people,’ he said.

Frans judged that various criticisms of those programmes would not change the organisation’s stance to continue supporting the current government.

‘Our stance remains to support, and we will even be more active in socialising what is being done by President Prabowo and Mr Gibran,’ he said.
