The Ministry of National Development Planning (PPN)/National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) is urging the Papua regional government to utilise the Papua Development Acceleration Information System (SIPPP) as a knowledge hub for development. “I invite all ministries/agencies and regional governments to utilise this SIPPP as a shared platform,” said Deputy Minister for PPN/Deputy Head of Bappenas Febrian Alphyanto Ruddyard during a strategic dialogue in Jakarta on Thursday. He stated that the platform contains integrated data, enabling more effective coordination and allowing the implementation of the Papua Acceleration Development Plan (RAPPP) to be better monitored. Consequently, he added, the resulting policies will be more targeted. Febrian stressed that the success of the RAPPP is not determined by a single institution. He asserted that success depends on the ability of all elements of government, the community, academia, the business world, and other development partners to work together. He also requested that regional governments in Papua ensure every funded programme is aligned with the RAPPP, recorded in the SIPPP, and implemented in accordance with statutory regulations. “Do not let there be programmes running outside the agreed planning documents, because this not only reduces development effectiveness but also has the potential to cause governance problems in the future,” Febrian said.
