Bappenas: International Cooperation Key to Accelerating Technology Mastery - BCA Sekuritas

The Minister of National Development Planning/Head of the National Development Planning Agency (PPN/Bappenas), Rachmat Pambudy, stated that international cooperation is key to accelerating Indonesia’s mastery of technology.

“Indonesia is open to investments that support the strengthening of the national technology ecosystem,” he said in an official Bappenas statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.

He conveyed that every country seeks to master technology based on its respective capabilities, including Indonesia, which aims to develop through various cooperation potentials with various parties.

“We welcome all new investments, especially in the digital industry, in the information technology ecosystem, in everything we need as a large country with more than 280 million people. We need connectivity, we need new models so that society can connect quickly,” said the Minister of National Development Planning during a meeting with a delegation from Huaxia Kunpeng Technology’s Zhang Zhou, discussing investment cooperation opportunities in the digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI) sectors in Indonesia.

This Chinese technology company expressed its commitment to investing and contributing to the development of Indonesia’s digital ecosystem by building AI data centre facilities and its ecosystem.

The proposed collaboration includes digital talent development through partnerships with universities as well as strengthening research and innovation capacities.

The meeting also discussed potential cooperation in building data centres, developing the technology device manufacturing industry, student exchange programmes, and establishing research and development (R&D) centres.

“Through this cooperation potential, Indonesia is expected to accelerate national digital transformation and strengthen its position not only as a market but also as a main player in the global technology industry,” he stated.
