Bapanas: Onion and Poultry Product Prices Stable in Sleman Ahead of Eid
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Food Agency (Bapanas) states that prices of onions and poultry products in Sleman Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), are monitored as stable and affordable ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah. Bapanas Director of Food Vigilance, Nita Yulianis, stated that based on joint inspections with the DIY Saber Pangan Task Force, prices of staple foods in the area are observed to be reasonable, including onion commodities at the distributor level. “In Sleman, we together ensure food prices, not only in markets, but we also check with distributors. For onions, the agents ensure fair prices so there is no reason for market traders to raise prices excessively for the public,” Nita said when confirmed in Jakarta on Wednesday. She conveyed that ahead of the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah moment, the government is collaboratively intensifying supervision of strategic staple food conditions in various regions, including Sleman. Nita mentioned that during the visit to Tajem Onion Agent, information was obtained on prices from distributors to traders around Sleman for shallots ranging from Rp35,000 to Rp36,000 per kilogram (kg). Meanwhile, garlic is priced at Rp24,300 per kg for retail traders. “The Saber Pangan Task Force team then conducted checks at Pakem Market in Sleman,” she said. She stated that onion traders at the market are still setting selling prices in accordance with the Consumer-Level Reference Selling Price (HAP) regulations. The most expensive shallots are Rp40,000 per kg and garlic at Rp35,000 per kg.
