Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Food Agency (Bapanas) recorded that the realisation of government rice reserves (CBP) distribution to maintain supply and price stability has reached 1.02 million tonnes as of the third week of June 2026. “As of 23 June in Bapanas records, the realisation of CBP distribution to the public for the 2026 budget has touched a total of 1.02 million tonnes,” said Head of Bapanas and Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday. Bapanas noted that the distribution of stabilisation rice consisted of 601.7 thousand tonnes of rice food aid, 367.8 thousand tonnes under the Food Supply and Price Stabilisation (SPHP) programme, 38 thousand tonnes for the civil servant budget group in certain regions, and 11.3 thousand tonnes for emergency response. Meanwhile, the total government rice reserve stock managed by Perum Bulog as of 23 June stood at 5.17 million tonnes. This stock was sourced from domestic rice procurement equivalent in 2026, which has reached 3.23 million tonnes. It was also supported by the year-end 2025 stock of 3.24 million tonnes, which was entirely sourced from the realisation of domestic rice procurement equivalent in 2025 of 3.43 million tonnes without any imports. Bapanas noted that rice prices as of 22 June 2026 remained relatively under control, with the average medium rice price below the government-set highest retail price (HET). Despite a price increase over the past month, Bapanas assessed that the price movement remained within the HET corridor for medium rice, thus market conditions were maintained. In Zone I (Java, Lampung, South Sumatra, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, Sulawesi), Bapanas recorded an average price of Rp13,080 per kg as of 22 June, with the HET for medium rice at Rp13,500 per kg. South Sulawesi had the lowest average medium rice price at Rp12,665 per kg, while Central Sulawesi experienced the highest at Rp13,847 per kg. For Zone II (Sumatra excluding Lampung and South Sumatra, East Nusa Tenggara, Kalimantan), the average price on 22 June was Rp13,704 per kg against an HET of Rp14,000 per kg. Jambi recorded the lowest average price at Rp12,595 per kg, and East Kalimantan the highest at Rp14,586 per kg. Finally, in Zone III (Maluku, Papua), the average medium rice price on 22 June was at Rp15,244 per kg, with the HET set at Rp15,500 per kg. The lowest average price was in Maluku at Rp14,700 per kg, while the highest was in Papua Pegunungan at Rp20,000 per kg.
