The Regent of Banyuwangi, Ipuk Fiestiandani, stated that the ‘Sekolah Rakyat’ currently under construction in Banyuwangi Regency, East Java, will have a capacity of approximately one thousand students, covering primary, junior high, and senior high school levels.

‘I have reviewed the construction progress, and currently, the development of the Banyuwangi Sekolah Rakyat has reached 75 per cent,’ she said in Banyuwangi, East Java, on Monday.

The Sekolah Rakyat in Banyuwangi is situated on approximately 7 hectares of land owned by the Banyuwangi Regency Government and is being constructed by the Ministry of Public Works using a modern, international-standard school concept. This educational development project is one of the priority programmes of President Prabowo Subianto. The complex includes facilities for primary, junior high, and senior high school students, equipped with various supporting learning facilities.

‘The Sekolah Rakyat currently under construction is located in Blambangan Village, Muncar District. In the meantime, the school is operating across two locations: the Banyuwangi Regency Government Training Centre in Licin District and the Vocational and Productivity Training Centre (BPVP) complex in Muncar District,’ added Regent Ipuk.

The facilities being constructed include two-storey buildings for primary, junior high, and senior high schools, as well as male and female dormitories for each level and staff rooms. The complex will also feature a multipurpose hall, a mosque, a place of worship, and a kitchen. Additional amenities include separate canteens for each school level, a ceremony ground, a football pitch, a basketball court, a jogging track, a generator house, waste disposal areas, a greenhouse, a pump house, a maintenance warehouse, a guard post, a kitchen waste installation, car and motorcycle parking, and gates. The total number of classrooms being built reaches 38 study groups, consisting of 18 for primary school, nine for junior high, and nine for senior high school.
